Ready or not

Here I am! Welcome to my blog and my very first post. Why I am starting a blog is a very good question. If you know me, you know that journaling is one of my least favorite activities. A blog is a journal for the whole world to see. God has a funny sense of humor. I even know that there are several people laughing in their heads (or out loud) as they read this page- you win, you finally got me “journaling”.

What if I tell you that I during a homily in mass God told me to write and publish a blog? Would you believe me? Maybe not. Maybe God is more subtle in your life. It’s a “feeling” or a “knowing”; I’ve had those too, this time it was clearly a voice, with a title and message all picked out. Has God ever told you to do something? Did you do it?

I pondered for a few days. I was not particularly looking for direction that day in mass. Driving to adoration a few days later, I called a friend to tell her about it and instead of telling me I was crazy, she was delighted- not the reaction I was seeking. Her reaction, and I quote: “Finally! I’ve been telling you to do that forever.” I sat in the quiet of the adoration chapel, all I could think was “Ok God, let’s see where this goes.”

Could I have resisted? Absolutely! But if you have been on your faith journey awhile, you are already aware the the “thought/call” that you hear is not going away, in fact, the thought will probably be more insistent the more you ignore it. (Are you ignoring one right now? How’s that working out for you?) If you have the courage to say yes and step out into the unknown, surprises and blessings are coming your way- from unexpected places.

So here I am, ready or not, tooling down this winding road of life, certain that there is a reason that I am sharing my journey, thoughts, blessings, and even my favorite quotes with you. Enjoy!

  1. What an inspiring story, Sarah. Beautiful start to what will surely be an amazing journey for…. so many.
    There’s lots to be said about obedience. Jesus was always obedient to His Heavenly Father AND to St. Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
    You’re on the right track, Sarah.
    God bless you for your obedience and for sharing your blog/experiences with us all.

    1. My Dear Friend,
      I’m beyond proud of you and listening to your calling. Here is my quote for you;
      I’d rather live and be original.
      I’m strong, I’m unique and I’m happy.
      I WILL shine in my own light!
      Regardless, that’s who I am and will always be..
      It’s up to you world if you can handle my truths.
      May your journey ahead be a magnificent transformation.

  2. I’m so excited for you and for this blog. I had no idea what your posts would be about, but I knew I had to take a look. Now here I am feeling extremely called out (in a good way!) about ignoring the calls. Cheers to trying new things and taking on the oh-so-daunting, yet beautiful journey we call life!
