How we get the answers we are seeking???
Have you ever prayed about something (or someone) and wondered why you don’t have any answers? (only everyday, right??) I recognize that God’s time is not my time, I still want answers, sooner rather than later, don’t you?
Patience grasshopper. It’s not always about the answers, sometimes it’s about the experience leading us somewhere else. There is also the possibility that it’s not really about us. The purpose of the situation is greater than me or not about me at all-it’s entirely for someone else.
I recently met someone really nice who makes me smile. As quick as that started, it ended. Why? He gave a reason, that I know is true for where he is in life right now. I can see from his perspective, it’s not the right time. Not the answer I was hoping for in the situation, but the right answer for right now.
I imagine this has happened to everyone at some point, maybe not in a relationship, in a job search perhaps. When I switched to online work, I found a job that seemed perfect. In the interview, I was learning the more specific job duties and as I was talking, it became apparent that I would not enjoy that job at all. I discussed it with the interviewer and thanked them for their time. The interview was a success, but not in the way I had thought.
How do we find the answers? Quiet time, walks, prayer, opening up ourselves to the possibility that the answer is different from our vision. We should ask the questions we have and as we do that, we should expect that the answers won’t come in the way we expect or in the time that we want. The job interview I mentioned gave me confidence for the next job interview I had, and the meeting with a kind man reminds me that there are people out there looking for the same things that I am.
Don’t stop asking or looking for what you want. Remember that when the answer comes, it’s probably not in the pretty package you thought. The answers are coming…..soon I hope.
