Are you living a joyful life?

Are you living from a place of joy? What is the “yes” that will lead you there?

Have you ever met a really joy filled person? The kind that just radiates joy and happiness about life? It’s so interesting when they cross our paths. A little reminder that such joy is possible.

Last night, I attended a concert for a popular Christian band with a friend. I had chosen seats a little away from the crowd, near the top of the section. We were there early and a woman came to sit directly behind us. We struck up a conversation and she freely shared how God is present and working in her life.

She shared that someone had sought her out to do the job she is currently doing and that decision came with leaving her family, friends, and her home country. She felt like being obedient to God’s call for her life was important and that decision has opened doors beyond her imagination. While describing her journey to us, she almost sparkled, she was so excited to share. She is living her best life, right now.

What stuck me most from our conversation is that she said “I did my part, I said yes to the call. I’m excited to see what happens next…” Wow! I keep returning to the – I do my part and God does the other part. It’s not on me to make it happen.

I love it when God puts people in our paths to remind us of what’s possible when we say yes to what He has planned even though we have no idea where it’s going. I’m hoping a little of her “sparkle” rubbed off on me. I want to sparkle with joy and dance as she did with total abandon in a crowd.

Will I know the next “yes” to say? Will you? Let’s hope so. Do you know what’s holding you back from living a joy filled life? What can you do about that? My go-to is prayer.

Pray with me a moment, will you? God please keep giving me chances to say yes to your will in my life. Send me opportunities to share the love, joy, and blessings that you have poured out so freely on me. Help me to be a sparkler in a world that needs love and light. Amen.
