It’s Thanksgiving, if you made a list of everything and everyone, how long would it be?
We have a whole day to be thankful. Aside from the cooking, naps, and family squabbles/family time, do you take a moment to think about everything you have? Over the years I have done lots of gratitude exercises- there are calendars, journals, meditations. The easiest is to just make a list. I’m sure I will think of more, but here is my list for today.
I am thankful for/to….
- God for allowing me to fail and showing me the beauty of trying again
- My family- the are a little nutty, but it’s my kind of nut
- Having a home, food on my table, and money in the bank
- A body that takes me everywhere I need to go and lets me know when I need rest.
I have so many good people in my life- in fairness to all, it’s in alphabetical order!! I am thankful for:
- ACB- your humor, wit, logical mind, and occasional tough love moment are so appreciated.
- AEW- my warrior angel and kindred soul. (plus your mini-me is my buddy)
- Book club- it’s been 13 years, I’m fortunate to have such faith filled, wonderful ladies in my life
- C family- all 6 of you! You always make me laugh and give warm hugs.
- EM- You put great faith in me and ask me to give my best. Possibility and adaptivity are your middle names and it inspires me.
- Family dinner peeps- 20+ years of food and laughter. Love how the “family” has grown.
- FK- a listening ear with a dose of truth
- FS work friends- such passionate, caring, curious people make my life better!
- Grad school peeps- TD and AC- no matter how much time has passed, time with you is fun
- KM- love that we have been friends for-ev-er and you are still my “favorite date”
- LDM- daily texts, long distance friendship, prayers, and concern that I do not get enough rest….golden!
- LCF- my first and longest friend since I moved here.
- MAG- always on my side, and invites me on holidays.
- MB- You answered all my questions for months with patience and good humor, I miss your face in my virtual calls!
- SrMG- friendship, prayers, and cards!
- Students- past, present, and future. I love sharing my passion for French with you!
- TB- you make me laugh- plus you make pies with me!
- TM- just because
I’m sure if I sat here for hours, my list would go on forever. Every day I am thankful for those in my life. Whether you stay two weeks, months, or forever, I am glad to have met you. What about you? Take a few moments today in the midst of your business to make your list.
Sarah, God loves a thankful soul and that you most certainly are.
Love these long lists. We should all take the time to at least write… some 50 “thank you’s” for blessings known and unknown.
I am thankful for you every day!
