Do you need a little Jesus?

Sure, I need Jesus, but do I need a mini Jesus, and lots of them? Having spent a few years online, there are many surprises about teaching in person again. One day, maybe 3 weeks ago, a mini Jesus appeared on my desk. I was amused, and thought, ok, someone thinks I need Jesus. So he stayed.

Then about two weeks later, another one appeared, then another, there are currently seven floating about in my room each day. What is funny is that they move. The kids in my last class move them and then they are often in different places by the time my first class starts.

Someone had to explain it to me- that it’s a social media trend to evangelize. I’m trendy now!! LOL- I’m not. But I do think it’s interesting that it’s organically appearing and sparking some conversation amongst the students. Several students have pulled them out of their pockets to show me because they take Jesus with them everywhere.

I do think I need a ‘little Jesus’ each day. I don’t mind the reminder that the mini Jesus brings with him. Since he is staring at me from various places, I remember that Jesus is everywhere, even in the people in front of me, and it helps me to be a bit more patient when things go awry.

It’s a tangible reminder to always be on the lookout for Jesus- in all forms. If you find one, say a prayer for the person who left it, and maybe move it to a new spot for someone to find. It may serve as a reminder to them that God’s love is constant, and all around.

Where are you seeing Jesus these days?
