Have you seen a miracle today?

Have you ever thought that miracles are all around us, you just have to be open to seeing them? I can tell you with certainty, I was in the visicinity of many miracles this past weekend.

Each year, I make an Advent retreat and at the end we share our blessings from the weekend and wow I am always astounded at what people have experienced. I had a great weekend, but did I experience a miracle? Well, I’m not sure I would call it that, but if the miracle is simply waking up and managing to NOT fall down the steep hill while I was hiking, then yes, there were miracles.

I saw old friends from years past and met some lovely people. Today, I had a wonderful conversation with a beautiful lady. (If you are reading this C, then is one is for you.) We were chatting about miracles and I mentioned this blog. She said You write a blog about miracles? No one does that. I explained that, no, it’s not really about miracles, it’s about God working in our everyday life.

We talked some more and parted ways. On my way home I realized that this IS a blog about miracles because God working in my life at any time is quite miraculous! It seems miraculous to me that 30 people will choose to go on an Advent retreat. It’s miraculous that I am in better place in lots of areas of my life than I was a year ago.

God’s beauty in nature is quite miraculous, the retreat house is on 20 acres of lovely trees, trails, and a river. Beautiful. So to amend my earlier statement. I have seen a miracle today, more than one in fact. How many have you seen? Are you open to seeing and receiving them?

As you walk through this week, pay attention to even the smallest miracles that you experience. If you are attentive, you will notice that miracles happen every day, we just don’t always see them. My wish for you this week is that you see all of the beauty and miracles that surround you each day.
