Are your priorities in order?

Great question. With everything you/we have to do, am I asking you to reprioritize too? Well, I think Lent might be a good time to reflect on this. I am just finishing up a a Bible study on this very topic.

I’m sure you know what comes in first place, it’s prioritizing your relationship with God. How well is that happening for you right now? I know from personal experience that it’s not easy to make time in your life for one more thing. Prayer, going to church, going to Bible study can feel like ‘one more thing’ at times and you may be in a season where it’s just not as possible as you would like.

We’ve all been there, it could be work, kids, parents, health issues, you name it, it’s happened to you at some point. So what do you do? What should you do?

I am in a busy season of life. There are many work related things that I have to take care of on a daily basis and it seems like I don’t have much time for anything else. The best advice I have gotten lately is to put it on my calendar- schedule it in.

Last night, it was my turn to go to adoration, and wow I was tired. BUT it was scheduled. I have a monthly appointment with Jesus in adoration. I can’t let him or my adoration partner down. When I arrived at the door to the chapel, I felt relief and peace. I could go in, pray, or just be if that’s what I need.

This week, take a moment and see where you are fitting your time with God in your schedule. I challenge you to make an appointment with him and keep it. You won’t be sorry.
