What’s on your prayer list?

Prayer has been on my mind lately. The when, the what for are sometimes difficult to come by. For example, when the weather is really rainy or it’s too cold, I don’t take a walk. My walk time each day is the biggest part of my prayer time- do you see the problem? I end up coming to the end of the day and go….oh no! I did not pray.

It’s helpful to have a dedicated prayer time- some people have dedicated time when they wake or before sleep, I used to pray on my commute each day. When you have time is the perfect time for you. Making time is a challenge some days, but I will always be grateful that I make the time.

The next challenge can be the subject of the prayers. I am currently in a Bible study with a circle of ladies and when we give prayer intentions at the end each week, they must be about us, not for other people. I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to pray for myself.

I am not saying not to or that you should not pray for other people. You absolutely should, but what I have seen in my group is that people have a hard time naming what they need. I am not an expert, but I am improving.

Here is the interesting thing. How can we receive God’s grace, goodness, and blessings if we do not ask for them? Don’t you love being able to bless someone else with something that they need? How do you think that God feels when He can and will help, but you are so stubborn that you won’t ask?

God will come to your assistance, maybe not in the way that you imagine or want, but He will send help. My challenge to you this week is to add yourself to your prayer list and be honest with yourself and God about what you need. You won’t regret it.
