Would you repeat that please?

One of my favorite Sunday activities is my Sunday stroll. There are many beautiful parks within a short distance and I enjoy spending time outside walking, enjoying nature, and just being. Today as I began my walk, I noticed that some of the sidewalk had lots of drawings and really big was written Isaiah 41:10.

I admit that I did not immediately look it up- I thought I’m sure I know that one, and started my walk down the trail. It’s not a loop so at the end, you just have to turn around and go back the way you came. I stopped in the shade to look up the verse. It was the exact same verse that I had found a few days ago when looking for guidance. Coincidence? I think not.

Maybe I did not take the message to heart a few days ago so God thought I needed another reminder. I couldn’t miss it. It was literally put in my path. So I pondered it on my way back on the trail. I will strengthen you and help you. Do I need help in some areas of my life? Yes. Did I actually ask God to help me? No. Why not??

Why not is a great question. I often think “I got this” and when people offer help, I decline because I really do think I’ve got it. I’ve gotten better about asking others for help, but evidently I have some work to do in asking God for assistance. I spent the rest of my walk just talking to God and telling Him where I could use a hand and then realizing that I need to be open to accepting the help he’s sending.

How often are we refusing the guidance/assistance that is being sent our way? Is God sending you repeated messages? Do you need help or guidance in areas of your life? We aren’t supposed to do it alone and we can’t. God sends us people when we need them. We have to be open enough to recognize them when they appear. My prayer this week is to be able to keep an eye out for who or what God is sending me.

    1. Usually the message is subtle for sure, sometimes it is not- written in 2 feet letters on a sidewalk. God is funny!
